A suspected notorious kidnapper called Dogo Oro believed to be terrorising Bunza and Kalgo Local Government Areas in Kebbi State has been reportedly killed by men of vigilante geoup at Tunga village, Tilli ward in Bunza LGA.
Alhaji Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to Kebbi State Governor disclosed this in a statement issued to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
The Chief Press Secretary quoted the Director Security, Carbinate Office, AbdulRahman Usman confirming the development while giving an update on security situation in the state on Friday.
Usman said: "The suspected notorious bandit appeared this morning shooting people with bore and arrow, but our men of vigilante gunned him down to death."
According to him, the succeseful operation by the men of vigilante had added a lot of hope "for our community to resettle down in their various homes and villages and go about their normal businesses, eapecially at Kanzanna general area."
The director said the success stories were being recorded following the holistic and active approach and support to security agencies by the present administration led by His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris.
He noted: "Sanusi Ibrahim-Geza, Kebbi State Commander, Vigilante has confirmed that the incident happened this Friday morning as reported by their Bunza LGA Commander, C/suv Faruku Mashayabo."
Usman, however, said the commander appealed to government to assist them with more arms and ammunations to enable them sustain the fight and ensure self defence, assuring that fight was getting hotter for the bandits in Bunza and Kalgo general area.
