Beneficiaries have described the Kebbi state Contributory Healthcare Management Agency program KECHEMA as the best legacy of democracy because with little money they are getting free drugs.
Facility Managers under Primary Health Centres operating KECHEMA programme lamented that due to the current economic hardship, and considering inflation as a benchmark, they urge KECHEMA to increase their monthly capitation issued for each beneficiary under the program in order to maintain the purpose and sustainability of the scheme.
The Facility Managers, Naziru Liman, Abubakar Usman, Magaji Arzika, Bashar Ubangari, Hauwa'u Umar, had separately made the urge in an interview, during a media tour organised by KECHEMA Public relations officer Mansur Danjuma Senchi on Friday 20th, October, 2023 in the state. Accompanied by Director Standard Quality Assurance, DSQA, Nurse Ummu Adamu Yauri.
They highlighted that the referral services under KECHEMA works perfectly, because any time they called KECHEMA to send authorization code they respond immediately which warrant transferring clients to secondary or tertiary facility for immediate quality medical intervention.
Primary Health Care Facilities visited during the tour include, Dalijan, Kambazan Hausawa, Gwandu, Masama, Mallamawa, and Jega respectively. They were all provided with drugs at the Pharmacy in the Facilities, and good laboratory services were observed.
The tour will continue in the randomized PHC across the state as part of efforts to see the success and problems of the Scheme with a view to advised the Agency for immidiate solution.
