Bandits have reportedly invaded Kanzanna village in Tilli District of Bunza l.govt in Kebbi state around 3am on 18 October, 2023. They reportedly killed two people and kidnapped three others.
It was gathered that the fleeing bandits took the kidnapped residents through the nearby jungle in the cover of the dark.
Kebbi state Commissioner of Police Mr. Aimiono Wane led a team of armed personnel for operational action and an on the spot assessment of the security architecture of the area, and condole with families and the people of Kanzanna for the death of their loved ones.
The command PPRO SP Nafiu Abubakar in a press release says:
"On the 18th October, 2023, at about 0300hrs, armed bandits invaded kanzanna village, Tilli District of Bunza LGA, killed two people and kidnapped three others.
On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Chris Aimiono Wane, psc, mnips swiftly mobilized a combined team of Police Mobile Force, Anti- Kidnapping and Counter Terrorism units to the scene for an on the spot assessment, and they are currently combing the nearby forests, routes and suspected hideouts of the criminals.
The CP while condemning the attack which resulted to the unfortunate incident, has assured the families of the victims that, the Command is following credible leads and intensifying efforts to track down the assailants and ensure that, the abducted persons are safely rescued and reunited with their families.
In their separate responses, the district head of Tilli, Alhaji Muhammadu Jabbo Tilli, the Hon. Chairman, Bunza LGA, Hon. Umar Ahmed and the Hon. Member, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Abubakar Tilli, thanked the CP for visiting the area promptly and called on their people to assist the Police and other security agencies in fishing out the perpetrators of the dastardly attack".
