Nigeria Learning Passport NLP, enrols 47,000 students in Kebbi


Forty seven thousand students have been enrolled into the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP) program in Kebbi state.


This was disclosed by Hauwa Muhammed, the team lead of Nigeria Learning Passport NLP in Birnin kebbi, during a one day Media engagement and dialogue at a workshop organized  by Kebbi Ministry for Basic and Secondary Education in collaboration with UNICEF.


300 Teachers were trained on computer application and operation, while 15 computers were supplied to the computer department of Kebbi Ministry of Basic and Secondary Schools Education by the state Government. Alhaji Ibrahim Ladan-Gulumbe, Director, Education Research Centre disclose this during the engagement event.


Hauwa said  “These objectives, among others, are to increase enrollment into the digital space, increase productivity and better work performance, and circulate news that can help people educate themselves.


The UNICEF supported the state with 1,320 Samsung Galaxy tablets, 100 screen protector and 1,140 device case.


This is in addition to 90 projector and 60 airtel routers with Sim – cards to 60 schools including 45 public primary and junior secondary school and 15 integrated Qur’anic schools," She said.
