KEBBI STATE GOVERNOR’S WIFE CHARGES YOUTHS TO ACQUIRE SKILLS FOR SELF RELIANCE


The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris has called on youths to imbibe the culture of acquiring skills in order to be self reliant and contribute to the economic development of the society. 


This was made known in a press release by Binta Abdulhamid, Press secretary to wife of the Governor, Her Excellency Hajia Nasisa Nasir Idris.


She made the call at their international Youth Day 2023, which was organised by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kebbi State Chapter, with the theme; GREEN SKILLS FOR YOUTHS TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE World, held  at Equity Hall Birnin Kebbi.

Represented by the chairperson ANCOPPS women wing, Hajiya Salamatu Bala Tafida, the wife of the Governor described Youths as the backbone of any society, adding that if united, the youths can make positive impact on Government policies and programmes.


Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris said  the present administration led by Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, has nominated many Youths to be part of the State Executive Council as part of its resolve to ensure inclusion of youths in governance. 

Presenting a paper titled GREEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP; FOSTERING SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS VENTURES at the event, Professor Sa’adu Birnin Yauri, Vice Chancellor Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero, said this year’s theme calls for investment in equipping young ones with the knowledge and skills needed to build a sustainable future for generations to come.

Highlights of the occasion were panel discussions and good will messages by dignitaries, entertainment and presentation of undisclosed amount of money by the wife of the Governor on behalf of NANAS foundation.
