Kebbi: Hundreds of people set to enroll with KECHEMA after 2 days media engagement in Kamba


The United State Agency for International Development funded project Integrated Health Project USAID-IHP in collaboration with the Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare management Agency (KECHEMA) had conducted a two days media engagement in Kamba town.


The engagement was geared towards sensitizing the media on the need to take awareness on the benefit of healthcare contributory scheme and the need to participate eapatially at the grass roots through the use of contemporary media capacity and the social media advocacy, a process that instantly drive possible premium enrolment of 300 persons into the scheme during the engagement.



Other contacts at top levels during the engagement were made that points to possible actualization of premium payment and enrolment of more hundreds of people into the scheme through the  informal sector. 


USAID- IHP main goal is reducing maternal and child mortality,  over the time Kebbi state has recorded cases of maternal, neonatal and child death with an alarming deaths of children below one Month of birth at 1/10 and death of children before the age of five years at 2/10  which could have been working reventable 


 
The enrolment of all residents will provide cross subsidy between productive persons and old persons, the rich and the poor, this will further insure risk sharing and financial risk protection. 


Dr. Aishah Aminu Senchi, Dr. Yusuf Suraj and Mr. Shamwil Hassan resourcefully delivered lectures on key target areas of interest to the participants.
