The Management of Kebbi State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency KECHEMA says it will continue to engage Traditional Institutions in creating awareness on the activities of the Agency.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency Dr Jafar Muhammad Augie made this known when he led a team of the Management Staff on a Sallah homage to the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar at Abdullahi Fodiyo Palace Birnin Kebbi.
Dr Jafar who described Traditional Institutions as formidable partners in the implementation of government policies and programmes also solicited for more collaboration in the areas of enlightening the public on the activities of the Agency.
He informed the Emir that since inception, the Agency has recorded numerous successes which include enrolment of eleven thousand two hundred and thirty state civil servants into Kebbi Contributory Healthcare Scheme KECHES while seventy three thousand eight hundred and seventy four were registered under Basic Healthcare Provision Funds and four thousand four hundred and nine were done under informal sector.
The Executive Secretary however thanked the State Government for creating the innovative way of having Healthcare Financing aimed at giving people avenue to contribute to one another interms of Healthcare needs.
Dr Jafar informed the Emir that about sixty seven percent of the beneficiaries accessed care free of charge with two hundred and eighty eight surgeries done and seven thousand three hundred and forty seven Women delivered under the scheme at no cost.
He further informed the Emir that the Present Administration of President Bola Ahmad Tinubu is planning to enrolled over one hundred thousand people in each state of the federation explaining that Traditional Institutions will be carried along in the implementation.
Responding the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar who is also the Chairman of the state council of Chiefs thanked the Management of KECHEMA for the visit while assuring Traditional Institutions continued support at all time.
