The Kebbi state command of the Nigerian police has announced the take over of the administration of the command by a new commissioner of police CP Lawal Abubakar Daura.
Daura took over from CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora who went on retirement recently. Online News platform isyaku.com gathered.
CP Lawal Abubakar Daura was the CP deployed for the gubernatorial election 2023 in Kebbi.
The change of police leadership in Kebbi was made known through a press release by the command PPRO SP Nafiu Abubakar for the commissioner of police Kebbi state command on Monday 3rd April 2023.

CP. LAWAL ABUBAKAR DAURA, fdc ASSUMED DUTY AS THE 34TH COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, KEBBI STATE COMMAND
The Kebbi State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that, a new Commissioner of Police has been posted to the Command. He is CP Lawal Abubakar Daura, fdc. He took over from CP. Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, who retired from the Nigeria Police Force.
2. CP Abubakar was born on the 20th August, 1965, at Daura LGA of Katsina State. After completing mandatory Primary and Secondary Schools Education, he attended the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria, where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Sociology.
3. He was enlisted in to the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) on 3rd March, 1990 and trained at the famous Police Academy Annex, Kaduna. He has served in different State Commands, Zonal Commands, Formations and the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
4. He held several positions, some of which include;
i. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yobe State Command.
ii. Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Several Divisions in Borno and Kano State Commands.
iii. Assistant Commissioner of Police in Charge of Port CID, Apapa Lagos.
iv. Assistant Commissioner of Police in Charge of South-West Border Patrol, Badagry, Lagos.
v. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Police Cooperative Society, Lagos.
vi. Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operations, Zone 2, Zonal Command, Lagos.
vii. Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Administration, Zone 7, Zonal Command, Abuja.
viii. Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operations, Oyo State Command.
ix. Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command.
x. Prior to his posting as CP Kebbi, he was the Commissioner of Police, Finance and Admin, FCID Annex, Lagos.
5. He also attended many professional and leadership Courses, Seminars and Workshops both within and outside the Country, some of which include;
i. Combat Operations Course, at Police Mobile Force (PMF) Training College, Gwoza Camp, Gwoza, Borno State.
ii. Junior Command, Intermediate as well as Tactical Leadership Command Courses at Police Staff College, Jos.
iii. He is also a graduate and fellow of Nigeria Defense College, Abuja, having successfully conferred with the fellowship award of fdc.
6. He is happily married and blessed with children.
