Principal, students of GGSS Ribah hail Bagudu for payment of WAEC examination fees 


The Principal and students of Government Girls Secondary School, Ribah, have commended the Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for his unrelenting efforts in the payment of their WAEC examination fees.

They made the commendation when the governor paid an unscheduled visit to the school on Tuesday.

The Principal, Maryam Namadi said the school has been recording tremendous success in the West African Examination Council, WAEC results sequel to the unwavering support of the governor in the payment of their exam fees.

According to her, due to the regular support of the governor in the payment of the school's exam fees, the school has been recording over 95 per cent success in WAEC. 

She appreciated the visit of the governor and informed him that the school has over 800 students with 461 who have resumed from the holidays.

The Head Girl of the school, Habiba Dandare also appreciated the visit of the governor, saying that it was a source of encouragement and motivation to them.

' We are happy with your visit our father, we are doing well in our school because of you, our father.

" We thank you so much for paying our school fees," she said 

Dandare urged the governor to renovate their classes, dining hall, hostels and toilets.

The governor, who was in a joyous mood as he was impressed with the high number of girls who resumed back to school from holidays, assured the girls of his government's commitment towards girl-child education. 

' Iam happy to see a

 large number of you back to school in spite of pockets of security challenges.

'"Please endure and resist any fear, there is no substitute to education, I admire your courage and resilience."

The governor then prayed Allah to protect and bless the students in their endeavors.

He informed them that with the initiative of Adolescent Girls, AGILE, Initiative, girls' schools in the state would be transferred and skills acquisition component provided to them.

Bagudu announced that through Adolescent Girls Initiative (AGILE) , a  collaborative program between the State Government and the World Bank, the school would be fully equipped and upgraded with the necessary learning and entrepreneurship equipment .

The Governor directed the Chairman to provide 20 bags of rice and 40 cartons of indomie to the students..

He also directed for the immediate repairs of the toilets and the school hall pending the general repairs of the school.
