NIGERIA HAS DONE WELL IN THE PAST 62 YEARS....BAGUDU.

Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has expressed that Nigeria as a Country has fared well in the last 62 year of its existence as a sorvering Independent Nation inspite of its myriad challenges facing it like in other part of the world.

Bagudu in an interactive parley chat with Journalists to mark the 62nd Independent Anniversary of Nigeria however noted that there is still room for improvement to make the Country more better. 

He noted that the country spent centuries under the exploitative colonial system and it was so retrogressive, appreciating however that Nigeria as a Nation has done well in so short period of 62 years.

The Governor whose tenure expires in May 2023 also expressed that the population of the country had grown exponentially during the last six decades of independence, adding that, such demographic spike must come with some challenges.

He noted that most of the challenges currently facing Nigeria are global in nature, yet, Nigeria had achieved a lot, adding that  we have done well, but we can do better and we can do it.

He directed the State Head of Service to respond to a question that none indigenous teaching staff in the State whose contract has expired but yet to get their contract renewed or collect their gratuity, if he is aware of such development?

The Head of Service, Muhammad Safiyanu Bena, said, the global covid-19 pandemic couple with dwindling State resources were majorly responsible for the delay, promising to pay as soon as the State finances improved.
