PRESS BRIEFING BY THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, KEBBI STATE COMMAND, CP AHMED MAGAJI KONTAGORA, AT THE STATE HEADQUARTERS, BIRNIN KEBBI, 

ON 22ND DECEMBER, 2022.

Senior Officers from Sister Security Agencies,

Gentlemen of the Press,

Good morning.

I am highly delighted and honored to welcome you all to Kebbi State Police Headquarters, for the end of the year press briefing, to abreast you on the level of preparedness by all Security Agencies towards ensuring peaceful and conducive atmosphere before, during and after the forthcoming 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year celebrations.


In the light of the above, Heads of Security Agencies in the state, have decided to organize operation show of Force in Birnin Kebbi town, the state capital, with a view to reassuring members of the public, avowed commitment of the combined Security Agencies in ensuring their safety throughout the yuletide period.

Consequently, it is therefore necessary to use this medium to warn all potential trouble makers, miscreants, hoodlums and political thugs, to avoid engaging in any unlawful activity, as measures have been put in place to bring them to book.


At this juncture, I want to reiterate unequivocally that, the ban on the use of fireworks such as ‘knock-out’ is still in force and that, the security agencies will collectively enforce all the extend laws prohibiting its use in the state.

In the same vain, Parents/Guardians are hereby advised to warn their Children/Wards to desist from using such items. Equally, retailers of such goods are also advice to withdraw from the sales of these products, as anyone arrested contravening the extend laws will be prosecuted accordingly.


Similarly, I want to remind members of the public that, the order for the war against abuse of Diplomatic number plates, use of unregistered vehicles/motorcycles, covered number plates and unauthorized use of tinted glasses is also still in force. As such, erring members of the public will be arrested and prosecuted.

Finally, we expect maximum cooperation from the general public by providing accurate, useful and timely information in reporting suspicious person(s) to the nearest Security Agency for prompt response.
