NLC DUMPS LABOUR PARTY, DRUMS SUPPORT FOR APC GOV. CANDIDATE IN KEBBI.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has dumped the Labour party supposedly believed to be the party for Labour movement in Nigeria and openly ralied support for the APC governorship candidate in Kebbi, Dr. Nasiru Idris.
Dr. Iris who is popularly called NUT across the State resigned his position as the National President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) and as the Deputy National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and contested to be the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Kebbi State.
Addressing workers before the commencement of the National Central Working Committee (CWC) and the National Executive Council (NEC) Meeting of the union in Birnin-Kebbi on Moday, the NLC National President Comrade Ayuba Waba told workers in the state to work hard to ensure the victory of the APC governorship candidate who he described as there own come February 2023 election.
Comrade Ayuba Waba said Idris who as a former teacher was NUT and NLC chairman in Kebbi State before becoming NUT National treasurer and later NUT national president and NLC Deputy National President, adding that he deserved the union's support in his bid to become Governor of Kebbi State.
He thanked Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for deciding to handover power to a labour leader, promising that he will not be disappointed in his decision to support Nasiru Idris as the governor of the state.
Responding, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu thanked the union for standing with him and his deputy during his first and second term elections as Governor of Kebbi State, noting that whatever his administration was able to achieve was made possible because of the cordial working relationship that existed between his government and the NLC and the in put it made in the governance of the state.
Earlier in his address, the APC Governorship Candidate, Nasiru Idris commended Governor Bagudu for the achievement of his administration in the past seven years, adding that the governor has moved Kebbi State beyond the expectations of many and workers are happy and proud to be associated with his government
