CUSTOMS INTERCEPTS, SEIZES , DESTROYS DONKEY MEATS IN KEBBI.

Officers and men of the Kebbi State Area Command of the Nigeria Customs have intercepted a trailer with registration number, ARG 323 AX loaded with donkey meat along Rara/ Koko road, arrested the driver and his boy and were teken to the Command' s Headqurters with the offending items.
Addressing newsmen, the Comptroller of Customs in charge of Kebbi, Mr. Joseph Attah stated that poaching of endager species succh as donkeys is a contravention of section 63 (b) of CEMA 45 LFN 2004 of which Nigeria is a signatory to international convention on Wildlife fauna and floral.
Adding that we have a responsibility to protect the integrity of the Nation as a responsible member of the international Community, we can not allow our Nation to be used as conduit pipe for illegal trade on wildlife.
"Poaching of donkey is illegal and we urged all those in this illegality to stop it as we are determined to make it unprofitable for them including the possibility of sending them to jail." The Comptroller said.
