Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu this Thursday visited the Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital Birnin Kebbi to sympathize with soldiers who sustained injuries during confrontation with bandits on the border between Kebbi and Zamfara states this week.
He condoled with the Nigerian Army on behalf of the Government and people of Kebbi State, expressing sadness about the loss of lives of some soldiers and injury to others.
The governor described them as gallant and great warriors who sacrificed their lives for the betterment of Nigeria and wished those receiving treatment quick recovery, praying God to provide comfort to their families.
In an interview with Newsmen, Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu revealed that, the gallant troops succeeded in killing large number of bandits.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu requested all citizens to sustain prayers to Allah to bring an end to banditry, kidnapping, insurgency and other criminal acts.
In the course of his visit to the hospital the governor was accompanied by members of the State House of Assembly, the Chief of Staff Government House and Special Adviser on Security.
The Deputy Speaker of House of Assembly Hon. Muhammadu Buhari Aliero led special prayers for the repose of the souls of those departed and quick recovery to those hospitalized.
He was conducted round the intensive care unit, ICU by the Chief Medical Director, CMD and Permanent Secretary of the Hospital, Dr. Aminu Haliru Bunza.
