Impeachment of Kebbi speaker, Deputy, what Kebbi Gov Bagudu said will surpris you

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, says, the change in leadership of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, is a normal democratic process under civilian dispensation.

Senator Atiku Bagudu made the remark this Monday, when the new speaker of the Assembly led other members of the House on a courtesy visit to the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.

He made it clear that the action of the majority of the legislators to elect a new speaker and deputy speaker was in line with their constitutional powers to do so.

The governor expressed confidence about the capability and ability of the new principal leaders to steer the affairs of the assembly with purposeful disposition and unity to serve the people of Kebbi state with utmost commitment and betterment.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu urged the members of the legislature to work together and collectively in the task of legislation, extending his goodwill to the assembly.

The governor appreciated the services of former speaker and deputy speaker of the house during their leadership of the assembly.

In his comment, the new speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Abubakar Lolo, representing Bagudo West Constituency, gave an assurance of harmonious working relationship with the state government towards delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

He was emphatic that request from the executive arm on policies and programmes aimed at societal progress and human development would receive prompt response from the assembly.

Twenty members of the twenty four members of the House, including the new Deputy Speaker Hon. Muhammad Usman from Zuru constituency as well as other leaders of the assembly, accompanied the new speaker on the courtesy visit to the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
