"Once again, I would like to begin with expressing my deepest sympathy to the government of Kebbi state, the good people of Kebbi State, and other relevant stakeholders over the fire outbreak incident that almost lasted for two weeks, which plunged the state capital and other adjoining local governments into darkness, a very unpleasant experience.

The efforts of State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, the Executive Governor,  Kebbi State, TCN and relevant stakeholders in their swift response are worthy of commendations and appreciation.

While the team of engineers are working round-the-clock for the restoration of power supply across the state, some unscrupulous elements and other criminal elements are taking  undue advantage of the situation to vandalize electric facilities.

As part of our core mandates to safe guarding critical infrastructure, we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that these facilities are secured from any act of vandalism.

Let me sound a warning to criminal underworld and vandals to abandon these unlawful business for better, or leave Kebbi State, for if they are caught in the act, they will face the full wrath of the law.

Under my stewardship as the state Commandant, the Corps would remain zero tolerance to any criminal acts. Our men are adequately deployed to safeguard these infrastructures for 24/7 to foil any attempt of vandalizing or sabotaging these facilities.

It is a well known fact that, we are not ubiquitous. We can't be found everywhere. Therefore, I am appealing to the good people of Kebbi State and other patriotic citizens to assist us at every nook and cranny of the state to be more vigilante in apprehending any one seen vandalizing any equipment or acting suspiciously near or around transformers,  poles, cables, and hand the suspect to our nearest office for investigation and prosecution.

This act of vandalism, if left unchecked, may prolong the unpleasant experience we are currently undergoing. Each and everyone of us owes it a duty to contribute his/ her quota in safeguarding these facilities.

At this juncture, my profound gratitude goes to His Excellency Dr Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu for his efforts in putting structures in place to the extent that the state capital can compete more favorable with any state capital in the country.

I call on all the patriotic citizens of kebbi state to support His Excellency in protecting these structures against any act of vandalism for the generation yet unborn.
