EZE IBO KEBBI SUES FOR PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE

Newly turbaned Eze Ndigbo11 of Gwandu in Kebbi State, Chief Emerson Emeka Okafor has sued for peaceful coexistence among Igbo Community, other non indigens and their Hausa host as he said his turbaning by the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammad Illiyasu Bashar is very symbolic. 

Chief Okafor averred that peace is a necessary tool for development of any society as such his turbaning as Eze Ndigbo at this period in the life of Nigeria and Kebbi State would be used to ensure the peaceful coexistence of Igbo community and their hosts in kebbi State.

The Eze Igbo was turbaned and installed as Eze Ndigbo11 of Gwandu with other eight chieftaincy title holders, four district heads and three Gwandu Emirate Council members at the palace of the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Bashar on Saturday.

Addressing newsmen at the Igbo Community Hall in Birnin Kebbi, during a ceremony to celebrate his installation, the new Eze Ndigbo11 expressed satisfaction and happiness over the relationship that exists between the non indigenes and their hosts Communities in kebbi State, stressing that he will use his new position to achieve peace and cooperation needed for the development and progress of the state.

"Igbo community and their Hausa host have a long history of understanding, cooperation and coexistence. I will build on that for the good of all". He averred.

Dignitaries who joined the new Eze Ndigbo to celebrate his installation include, Eze Uzu of Awka kingdom, His imperial Majesty, Obi (Dr.) Austine Ndigwe, Eze Ndigbo Sokoto, Eze Ndigbo Minna, Oba Yoruba Gwandu, Onogie of Edo, The Papempa of Nupe, Igbo sons and daughters across kebbi State among others.
