IHP harps on optimal dessimination of awareness to grassroots through media engagement in kebbi

USAID Integrated Health Program (IHP) in collaboration with KECHEMA Kebbi state has conducted a two days sensitization and media engagement workshop for journalists in order to achieve universal health coverage in the state.
Speaking to joirnalist at Kamba Motel conference Hall Tuesday 15 November, Birnin kebbi, IHP health care financing officer Dr. Aisha Aminu Senche said:
"The significance of organising this workshop is a realisation of the fact that the media are keen on championing our activities especially in the context of our laws and health indices in the state, as a result, part of the strategy implored by the state to achieve universal health coverage is the establishment of Kebbi health contributory health management agency".
"The scheme is aimed at providing health care services that is affordable that do not avail individual to catestropic expenditure before he can access care" She said.
"Part of why we are here is to engage the media, to sensitise them, so that we creat awarenesses so that we build that health financing and the overall importance and benefit of the scheme to the general public" She added.
Also speaking, IHP Kebbi Knowledge management/ communication specialist, Farouk Nano Bello, highlited the goal of IHP in Kebbi primarily is:

To contribute to state level reductions in child and maternal morbidity and mortality, and to increase the capacity of health systems (public and private) to sustainably support quality PHC services for RMNC++NM (Reproductive health, family planning, and maternal, newborn and child health plus nutrition, and malaria) in Kebbi state to achieve universal health coverage
Objectives of IHP
1. Strengthen health systems supporting IHP
2. Improve access to primary health care services.
3. Improve quality of health care services.
Earlier, Dr Ja:afar from Establishment of Kebbi Contributory Health Care Management Agency. KECHEMA, also speaks extensively on the values and core importance of the IHP program and why the media should dessiminate awareness to communities in order to enroll in the program in Kebbi state to achieve maximum benefit from the optimal medical care service package delivery.
