PDP HAS NO FACTION IN KEBBI, BUT ONE BODY....STATE CHAIRMAN

The Kebbi State Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Usman Bello Suru has condemned in strong term the press Conference organised by the former Minister of Special Duty, Ahaji Kabiru Tanimu (SAN), where he announced the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ishaya Bamaiyi as the State Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council.
Suru in a counter press conference organised by the main stream of PDP in the State Wednesday night which he president over, accused Alhaji Tanimu of diversionary agenda in which he giving wrong information to the general public and members o the PDP in particular across the State.
The Kebbi State PDP Chairman stated that the content of the interview by the former Minister that General Bamaiyi has been applied as the Director General of the Presidential Campaign Council in the State was untrue, misleading and an attempt by to undermined the National Body of the PDP.
"We wish to state categorically that the content of the interview that General Ishaya Bamaiyi has been appointed as the Director General of the People's Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council in Kebbi State exist only in the figment of imagination of Kabiru Tanimu
and his cotravellers." He said.
Alhaji Suru explained that, a Presidential Campaign structures has been established in Kebbi State as directed by the National Leadership of the party one month ago in which Presidential Council is to be chaired by Dr. Bello Haliru Mohammed, a former National Chairman of the PDP, former Chairman of Board of Trustees (BOT) and a former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He added that his Vice Chairman in the Presidential Campaign Council in the State is Major General Aminu Bande (Rtd) who also is the party's Governorship candidate for the State.
"We therefore condemned in strong terms the entire content of the media interview granted by Kabiru Tanimu on the 25th October, 2022 in Birnin-Kebbi and called on him to retract the said media interview forthwith." He stated.
He stated further that, "PDP in Kebbi State wishes to say unequivocally that it has appointed all its members of the Presidential Campaign Council as directed by the National Headquarters of the Party in the State and each every member of the council has been dully served with his appointment letter."
"Who gave Kabiru Tanimu the powers to appoint General Is ha ya Bamaiyi as the Director General of the Presidents Campaign Council in Kebbi State?, do respective States have Director General of the Presidents Campaign Council apart from Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal the Governor of Sokoto State?" He added.
"We appeal to members of the general public to disregard the media interview of Kabiru Tanimu and called on members of PDP in Kebbi State to exercise restrain in taking any action as the party leadership in the State is taking all necessary steps to address the situation." He said.
