HYPADEC TO INVOLVE COMMUNITIES IN ITS 2023 PLANS, PROGRAMMES

The Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC), has assured stakeholders of involvement of various communities of HYPPADEC states to achieve the objectives set out for it by the commission.
The Chairman, Governimg Counci of the board of HYPADEC, Barrister Joseph Terfa Ityav, gave this assurance at the opening of a one day Stakeholders Forum on proposed HYPPADEC Medium Term Strategic Plan held in Kebbi State.
Ityav stated that the Commission has set out indicators, objectives and targets to achieve the mandate set out for it, adding that the Commission would continue to involve stakeholders of the HYPPADEC states when ever they have working documents to enable them meet their objectives through inclusiveness and generation of synergy to meet the yearning of all HYPPADEC communities.
He therefore implore stakeholders to
contribute constructively and meaningfully to the success of the meeting and hoped that at the end they will come up with working documents for the Commission.
Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu in his speech described the mandate of HYPPADEC as important and urged the commission to work with other states in various aspect such as food security, climate change among others.
Governor Bagudu said, flooding affects fishing, farming and rearing communities which needs serious intervention of the commission.
