BAGUDU SETS OUT CONDITIONS FOR PAYMENT OF TEACHERS SALARY.


Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has set conditions for the payment of primary Schools teachers’ salaries for the month of September 2022.

The Governor also made it clear that he would only give approval for payment after he has been presented with lists of bonafide teachers in service and signed by the Education Secretaries of respective Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) of the twenty-one local government areas of the state and counter-signed by the State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB)

He gave this directive at an interactive session yesterday with Chairmen and Secretaries of Local Government Education Authorities as well as the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, top management of the Board and Kebbi State Coordinator of the Better Education Service Delivery for All, (BESDA) Professor Abubakar Abdullahi Bagudo.

Governor Bagudu explained that the meeting was summoned to assemble all stakeholders in basic education to interact with one another towards eliminating miscommunication and misunderstanding as well as surmounting challenges on ground.

He advised Chairmen of Local Government Education Authorities and their secretaries, local government chairmen and other stakeholders to work together as one entity in the interest of basic education and development.

He also also mandated the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, to distribute copies of the law establishing local government education authorities LGEA which specify their functions, responsibilities and obligations to all stakeholders in education.

He directed SUBEB to write a letter and send a copy to him, informing local government education authorities of contracts awarded and the identity of the contractors for schools infrastructures.
