A coalition of Non-governmental Organizations in Kebbi state has condemned the recent killing of vigilante and soldiers by bandits in Zuru and Kanya village in the state.

Garba Abubakar Fakai of the Area Youth and Women Association for Good Governace, who stated this to Radio Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi, said that, following a joint meeting by associations in the state, resolved to condemn in totality the recent bandits attack in the state were sixty five vigilantes, eighteen soldiers and the Aid of the state Deputy governor killed.

Abubakar Fakai, said the meeting resolved to call on the federal and state governments to equip security operatives in the area with sophisticated weapons to confront the bandits.

According to him, the meeting also advised that, Kebbi state government should engage on campaigns on the need for people to seek for both western and religious knowledge especially those at the rural area.

He said, the coalition urged for the involvement of traditional and religious leaders fully in the fight against the current security challenges in the state.

The meeting also advised that, the three tiers of government to make employment opportunities to the youth to avoid them being used as militia.

The coalition however commended Kebbi state government for it's support to security agencies in the state and hoped to do more.

It also called on the public to intensify prayers for peace to prevail in the state and the country.
