EMIR SOLICITES NEW CONSTITUTION FOR NIGERIA.

Emir of Gwandu in Kebbi State and Chairman of Traditional Rulers Counci for the State, Alhaji Muhammadu Illiyasu Bashar has called on the National Assembly to come up with what he called inclusive Nigeria people oriented Constitution, describing the present Constitution as British Colonial Master's inherited.
Emir Bashar made this plea when he received in audience, the Aiyedero of Yoruba land, who is also member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiola Shina Peller in his Palace last weekend.
Shina Peller representing Iseyin / Itesiwaju /Kajola / Iwajowa Federal Consttuency of Oyo State was in Kebbi State as part of his peace meeting tour of Northern States of Nigeria.
The Traditional Ruler who commended the Lawmaker for embarking on the tour across the North and Southern geo-political zones for peace, progress and prosperity expressed that without peace every human endeavours is in vain.
He assured that the year 2023 will be peaceful, urging members of the National Assembly to look into where we are coming from as a country, adding that some of the laws we are operating in Nigeria today are inherited laws which has become obsolate.
"We need to change them. Our country is so large and we have larger population. We should respect Traditional Rulers. We should try to govern the way our people understand." He appealed.
Emir Bashir recalled his service year in the Nigeria Army at Enugu and Ibadan, pointing out that his service to the Nation was purely on peace and prosperity.
Earlier in his speech, Hon. Shina Peller told the Emir that as a Yoruba man with the tittle of Aiyedero of Yoruba land and as an advocate of peace across the Country, he feels bad to note that in 2021 over 35,000 people were killed due to insecurity in the land. We don't want this to happen again.
"We are already in the preceding year of elections which is always characterised with violence in other to curb this type of scenario as a promoter of peace we have to take a practice action and this is why we are here in Kebbi State to meet with traditional rules and the youths so that their mode of engagement will change for them to understand." He said.
In his statement while fielding question from newsmen, the representative of the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja11, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muraina Adedini, the Asiyan of Isoya, Ife, expressed that the Ooni is passionate about peace and prosperity that was the reason he delegated them to embark on peace tour across the Country.
